PRESIDENT

David Vo

Responsibilities of the President:

  • Completing all necessary paperwork and submissions for Get Involved.

  • Communicating with faculty advisor (Dr. Hao) and with the local Houston chapter representatives.

  • Participate in regular Officer Meetings.

  • Being responsible for accepting member dues/applications.

  • Maintaining an active member list with their correct information.

  • Working closely with fellow ISACA/ACFE Officers.

    • Also communicating with BAP & AA Presidents to organize semester events.

  • Reaching out to potential speakers to present at speaker events.

  • Making members aware of scholarship opportunities, local chapter events, etc.

VICE PRESIDENT  

Jennifer Nguyen

Responsibilities of the Vice President:

  • Assisting President with any tasks/issues.

  • Coordinating with their respective professional chapters as needed.

  • Maintaining records of all chapter members and students who express interest in organization.

  • Attend meetings and/or events in absence of President.

TREASURER  

Toshara Johnson

Responsibilities of the Treasurer:

  • Handling all financial transactions of organization.

  • Taking charge of all Student Organization funds, collections and disbursements.

  • Maintaining and organizing documentation of financial transactions.

  • Ensuring that all funds received are deposited.

  • Ensuring that the Executive Council is kept advised of the status of the accounting funds.

  • Helping in budgeting all social, community, campus and professional events.

  • Being available for the first half of semester to accept membership dues and applications.

SECRETARY

Molly Zhang

Responsibilities of the Secretary:

  • Assisting President in keeping all Student Organization records updated.

    • Get Involved documentation and forms, updated flyers and applications, PPT presentations, potential members/active member excel files, etc.

  • Creatively communicating upcoming events and important information to members on a weekly basis.

  • Maintaining accurate membership records.

    • Names, updated e-mail addresses, phone numbers, expected graduation dates, etc.

  • Assisting Treasurer in organizing and reporting all financial information.

  • Helping in coordinating calendar of events.

  • Recording the minutes of officer meetings.

REPORTING

Luis Hernandez

Responsibilities of the Reporter:

  • Maintaining an accurate and organized list of active members.

    • Includes member information such as: date of initiation, expected graduation date, grade level, etc.

  • Keeping record of appropriate attendance logs/sign in sheets of events for semester.

  • Calculating and allocating total number of points each member has based on the ISACA/ACFE Honor Cord Point System.

    • Entails creating and organizing an Excel file to portray an accurate representation of semester events, list of members, and point allocations.

  • Being available and able to communicate with members to answer questions about their points.

  • Working closely with fellow Officers to obtain appropriate information needed to execute position effectively.

COMMUNICATIONS

Kyle Nerida

Responsibilities of Communications:

  • Maintaining open communication with fellow officers to obtain information about events, scholarships, and other useful information that benefits members.

  • Update student organization website with information applicable to current semester.

  • Actively maintain student organization's social media accounts and post status updates about upcoming events, organization information, etc.

SGA REPRESENTATIVE

Sam Stritchko

Responsibilities of SGA Representative:

  • Attend 51% of UHCL SGA meetings.

    • These meetings are held every Tuesday from 11:30am-12:30pm.

  • Serving as a representative for the Student Organization.

  • Keeping members informed of SGA activities and deadlines.

  • Completing all paperwork as required by SGA guidelines.

  • Researching potential speakers to present at speaker meetings.

FACULTY ADVISOR

Dr. Hao

Dr. Hao is our student organization's Faculty Advisor. She works closely with officers and local chapter representatives to inform members of chapter events and great scholarship opportunities. We are so thankful to have Dr. Hao as our Faculty Advisor!
